SHORT HISTORY

Our school was opened in the Science and Literature Faculty as Physical Education and Sports Teacher Training Department as part of the town of Sapanca/Kırkpınar district.  First year, 31 girls and 92 boys were taken to our school with general skills exam. Our school then separated from Science and Literature Faculty and became School of Physical Education and Sports on 10 June 1997. In 2002, Departments of Recreation and Sport Management were opened and Coaching Education Department was opened in 2010.

Faculties, schools and departments in Physical Education and Sports have given many graduates for many years, unfortunately, not many graduates have been employed and job descriptions in the areas of employment and public sectors have not been defined.

A person graduated from Kocaeli University School of Physical Education and Sports in 2010, applied to the court. Application was examined at the meeting in March, the Higher Education Council and University Council finally announced last month, results taking into consideration the opinion of the Council Presidency.

30.03.2011 Higher Education Executive examined in the Board meeting and the 2547 Law No. 2880 of The Law provides various 43 / b in accordance with Article taking into account the opinion of Interuniversity Department, titles that can be used according to departments and programs in Physical Education and Sports colleges / faculties, Sports Science and Technology / Faculties and Faculty of Health Sciences are as follows.

Students who graduated from Sports Science Departments and programs claims "Sports Scientist” title. Graduates can be employed in the universities, Ministry of Education , Youth and Sports General Directorate and provincial organizations, sports federations , sports clubs, sporting performance and research centers, talent selection and development centers, physical fitness (fitness) center, athlete training centers and municipalities. The job descriptions include selection, directing, development, skill modelling, and performance analysis of individuals from all ages. Conditioning in all sports branches, preparing training programs, sports coaching applications, and activities related to those areas.

Students who graduated from Sports Management Department claim “sport manager” title. Graduates can be employed in universities, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports General Directorate and provincial organizations, sports federations, sports clubs, physical fitness (fitness) centers, athlete training centers and sports management sections in municipalities. The job descriptions is management private and public sport facilities and coordination of sportive activities.

Students who graduated from Coaching Education Department claim “Sports Coach” title. Graduates can be employed in universities, ministry of national education, directorate and provincials of youth and sports, sports federations, sports clubs, physical fitness centers, athletes training centers, talent selection and development centers and municipalities. The job descriptions include selection, directing, development, skill modelling, Conditioning in all sports branches and preparing and managing training programs.

Students who graduated from Physical Education Teaching Department claim “physical education teacher” title. Graduates can be employed in universities, schools directed by ministry of national education, public education centers, directorate and provincials of youth and sports, sports federations, sports clubs, physical fitness centers, athletes training centers, and municipalities. The job descriptions include movement education, basic sports education, folkdance and dance education in schools directed by Ministry of National Education and preparation, development and application of disabled physical education and sports programs in condition of becoming a specialist.

Students who graduated from Recreation Department claim “recreation instructor” title. Graduates can be employed in physical education and sport departments in universities and recreation departments in sports sciences and technologies schools, students clubs in Health, Culture and Sports Department, National Education Institutions, directorate and provincials of youth and sports, youth centers, private associations, municipal administrations, sports tourism sectors, sportive animation, parks and recreation fields. The job description is services in sports, movement and game based recreative activities for all ages and levels.
