Our faculty started education in the Kırkpınar district of Sapanca as a Physical Education and Sports Teaching department under the Faculty of Arts and Sciences in the 1995-1996 academic year. The School of Physical Education and Sports was established on June 10, 1997 and moved to Esentepe Campus in 2001. Recreation and Sports Management Department was opened in 2002 and Coaching Education Department was opened in 2010.

In 2015, the establishment process was completed as a Faculty of Sports Sciences with the Decision of the Council of Ministers. Our faculty was transferred to Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, which was established by leaving Sakarya University within the framework of Law No. 7141. However, education and training continue on the same campus. There are 4 departments in our faculty. Coaching Education, Physical Education and Sports Teaching, Recreation and Sports Management. Moreover, Master's and Doctorate programs are available.
